About SMG
An emerging force in major motion picture advertising
music, SMG has contributed music to the marketing
campaigns of over 70 high profile theatrical, home
video, and television releases.
In the company’s first 4 years of existence,
SMG's portfolio includes finished work on such projects
as "The Da Vinci Code”, "Batman Begins",
and the blockbusters "Spiderman" and "Spiderman
2" to name a few. SMG founders Jamie Anderson,
Jon Coco, and Dave McLaughlin played music together
for eight years in the band SWAG.
They were approached while performing at a private
party for film executives. Several producers and editors
encouraged them to lend their talents to their film
projects, and helped them secure opportunities.
So although the idea of Swag Music Group was born
that night, the group's skill set had already been
firmly established. SMG represents over 40 cumulative
years of music composition, production, and performance.
"We knew that we had a powerful and unique style
and sound, and we just needed some opportunity to
show it to the movie industry," says Jon.
"That night we were able to get our toe in the
door. Then, it was up to us to deliver."
And deliver they did. In weeks, Swag Music Group was
formed and they were producing music and sound design
for TV and film trailers. Three of the films they
initially worked on opened at #1 in national box offices.
"We've been fortunate to have been a big part
of the marketing campaigns for these films. We've
worked with companies like Sony, MGM, Warner, New
Line Cinema, Paramount and Fox," Jamie adds.
"Our philosophy is do it great and do it quickly.
We pride ourselves on doing the best quality work,
being dependable, and delivering on time."
SMG is currently working on new projects as they begin
to explore a broader role in movie music production.
"We want to add to our repertoire by getting in
to as many facets of the industry as we can,"
says Dave. " We will continue to create music
for film and TV and stay on the cutting edge."
